Pablo, stunning nurnies, I just love your take on them.. And it's good to have you aboard...

We'll need a model of Galactica doing, to house the squadren... Who's up for that...

I agree with Rich. Nice to have you on board, and like seeing yet another 'take' on ideas and nurnies...

I think people get more out of a tutorial if they're not just locked down into a 'copy the teacher step-by-step' regime and have the opportunity to put their own personal touch on a project without completely ignoring the core tutorial... That way you get the base skills, and base ideas - But you can grow on top of those while you work through them as well.

Nice. Once we're all done, there'll be a flight training briefing at 0800 hours NZST... :p

Thanks guys!!! I like learning the new tools to get things done and making work flow easier, like the Bevel tool for instance, I've always used smooth shift, scale, and the move tools to get the same effect, but that was three tools instead of one, so now I'm hooked on bevel. The other tool I like a lot is the Translate Plus tool, I didn't even know LW had a tool like it. Cool.
Kev, your tutorilas are fantastic and very informative, I wouldn't say you waffle on about things either. :p

I plan to finish the viper and make a few different ships using the same technics you teach Kev. Kev Rocks :rockandro Thanks again...

Bring on the texture pics :)

Wow! That's some serious plumbing... Nice.

If you wanted to keep modelling, then there's a tonne of other things you could build - Internal cockpit, something inside the nose inset, maybe gear bay doors, thin 'hydarulic' piping along the underside, ummm, that kinda thing.

However of course, don't overdo it if you can avoid it cause it can start to look a little silly if it gets too 'complex'.

Thanks me ole matey, your a gentelman and a scholar. Damn you do think like me. Thats scary, there's two of us geriatric weirdos out there!!!

Kev, many thanks also. My plan was to model the Viper as close to your tutiledge as I could with out going over board. So this one I'm kind of holding back my imagination, so to speak.
I'm going to make another Viper a souped up one and the Cylon spacecraft too using your fine tutiledge. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again Kev

Own ideas?! What the?!?@!?! :ranting:

lol! Just kidding! If you've unwrapped the ship into the various UV's, you should have a good base to work from.

Be curious to see where you go with that one...

BTW, very cool model. Its great to see people getting out and doing their own details, having a little fun - A good way to play with the tools and ideas as well...

 Yes I know it's Tuesday Dave  ....Sorry I know I said I would be texturing the Viper this weekend but I got side tracked. (Saturday I went out shopping for the parts and Sunday I built it). I had to build another computer and a computer table for my youngest son (7). He always fights with his older siblings for rights to their computers so I gave in and built him his own, now he's a happy camper. Peace finally. Right now I'm working to finish the head then I'll go from there. :)
So Dave? How was your trip? Did you send us all post cards? It's been quiet here with out you, you big lug. Welcome back!!! Now you have to get your a** busy and finish your Viper. Your making the geriatric squadron wait, not a good thing at our ages. Dean can barely hold his water much less his poop. So hurry up.

DAVID WEBSTER

A likely excuse, I've heard that one before... You'd never catch me making promises, like getting a texturing DVD done by end of April, and then not delivering, now would you...

Oops, bad example!

He always fights with his older siblings for rights to their computers so I gave in and built him his own, now he's a happy camper.

Now it'll just be a fight for the dongle and LightWave you have to deal with, eh!

??? Kev? you siad you were going to get a texturing DVD out by the end of April??? I didn't know that! :nana:

Yeah, next they'll be fighting me for the dongle and LW....I'll be clutching it tightly in my greedy little hands, fighting them back with a stick...

Dave 28 years.....Man, thats as bad as making your wife wait 14 years for the wall paper.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< VIPER POWER >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
:omg: It's Finished!!! I finally started texturing my Viper late yesterday and all last night, it's 6:15am here now and after countless renders and drawing up the maps I finally finished. I tried several ways that I know on how to texture and finally got things to line up. My drawing skills are a little rusty so it may not look very real but I'm happy with it for now. Anyway check it out.
