View Full Version : multishift on intakes

Hi all,
I am having a problem with the base of the top intake. After extending the bottom points and then selecting the bottom polys I apply multishift. But it doesn't create a smooth ridge, each face is being extruded, creating tentacles. I'm guessing it is an option thing, but I'm getting nowhere.
thanks for any help.

Hey Scroll1,
I think I know what your talking about. If you post an image, we might be able to help.
But you might have to weld some points together. I am not technically minded in these things, I usually just play around with things to they come right. But someone else will come along, and correct me if I am wrong...Which I probably am:biggrin: But That's all I can think of at the moment.

Mmmmm...I have know idea. You could have overlapped Points, Or could be a setting you have using Multishift.
But that's all I know sorry...But as I say it wont be long till someone will come along to help. Kev Probably:wink:
Good luck on your Viper, and post some images of your progress.:pics:

Like Jason said you have unwelded points. You may have used the Bevel tool by accident leaving you with some unwelded points and polys. Get out of subpatch mode and select the polys and delete them then select all the points on the bottom and do a merge points. That should fix the problem, hope this helped lets us know if you have any more questions. :)

Ewwww, No you can keep him and his hairy palms. You'd better check your hair gel container and make sure there's not more added to it after he gets out of the toilet. Who knows what he does with that stuff afterwards...

hi,
had the forum open on another computer... I have been trying the merge points stuff, I did have some points that needed dealing with. But I still get the same result when I Multishift. I'm going to redo the whole intake again, to find where I went astray . . .

You don't have to go that far, just delete the bottom row of polys then select the same row of points and extend them down and go from there....
