I have been trying to load the candle object from my cd, but everytime I try to load it in layout it crashes. I can open it ok in modeler, but when I try to "send" it to layout again it crashes. HELP

I have had this same problem and hear is what you need to do.
Close Lightwave layout and modeler. Next go to your C: drive then go to Documents and Settings.
now depending on the number of users you have go to the owner or Administrator folder.
Find the files with .CFG at the end these are config files for lightwave. example of lighwave 8

LWEXT8.CFG
LWM8.CFG
LW8.CFG
LWHUB8.CFG

You may find that if you had your layout or modeler set to quad they will be set back to single not much
ealse will change.

I would also sugest you go to edit plugins and Scan Directory go to your lightwave folder and add your plugins again.

I have had the MotionDesigner Controller take a long time to come up but after I had edit the plugins the MDC comes up faster. This is another fix setup that could also fix your upload problem.
