Audio quality?

My DVD copies of the three Orc series just arrived today, and it seems that the audio on the Advanced Sculpting disc is wonkily encoded. A brief check shows that the other 2 discs sound fine, but all 7 video files of this disc are actually rather difficult to understand. Sounds like noise canceling gone awry, but I'm not an audio expert so don't ask me. Sounds like the author's voice is travelling from his embedded position deep within the intertubes or something... :wink:

Is it just something with my disc, or is this a known thing? Are the downloadable versions of the files like this too?

I have same problem. I downloaded my copy of orc sculpting yesterday. L. J. Bamforth sounds terrible.
Q-A-007.mov - 2nd person sound better than tutor.
I can`t understand less than a half and its very annoying. Texturing (i downloaded yesterday) is fine.

Good to know it's not just my ears I guess. I haven't heard anything other than your reply, so I was starting to wonder if it was just me. Like I mentioned, the other discs in the series (Adv. Detailing and Adv. Texturing) sound just fine. I hope somebody notices this at some point.

Actually since I'm still waiting for the Mac version of ZBrush 3.5 to even be released, judging from Pixologic's track record it'll be early 2012 before I'll need these tutorials. Ah, optimism... :biggrin:

Actually it's just been 3 weeks since I vented here in the forum...it was Christmas day when I received the package so I didn't bother writing to them right away. Maybe I should actually contact them directly.
