I just wanted to welcome everyone to the print forum, expecially those
of you who plunked down actual cash for my DVD.;)
Print technique for 3d can be a pretty dry subject. My main goal with
the DVD wasn't to make print look sexy, but to smooth the way for those
of you who came to 3d through video and multimedia.
I've always believed that once you get good at your tools, you can
finally stretch with your creativity. So hopefully my DVD makes print a
simple affair for everyone, and we can all get back to making cool 3d.
On the DVD, I also have a large section intended for print artists who
are new to LightWave. My DVD isn't a basic course on LightWave. There
are plenty of beginning LightWave training DVDs by some excellent artists.
The 3d exercises on my print DVD are intended to allow an artist with a print background to quickly get what they need out of LightWave, and get back to their favorite 2d applications.
Finally, I devoted one tutorial to my illustration technique, and the
specific ways that I use LightWave, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe
Photoshop to arrive at the finished image. I hope that this takes some
of the mystery out of digital illustration.
Please feel free to post any questions or suggestions. I look forward
to hearing from you.
