Well, I've finished vol 1 and am ready to crank up vol 2, but, I have a concern. I know that the amount of geometry is rather large, but when I'm in WIREFRAME SHADE mode(perspective view), and select a few polys with the mouse in order to select connected, it seems like it takes a really long time to get the first two or three polys selected before I can use select connected. Is this normal? Is it more a function of processing power, or are there settings that I can choose to speed things up?
Thanks for anyone able to shed some light on this,
Standaman:)
What are the specs on your computer..?

Hey there..if things start chugging, you can try cutting body panels and pieces into other layers. for example, if you are working on the headlights, you might want to keep the fenders, hood, front grill and front bumper active and place all the rest of the body pieces into another layer and turn it off.

Thanks Gerald. It's been a great tutorial. I have Vol 2 and will get started soon. I was just a little concerned about the slowness of my machine when rotating or selecting in perspective view the SSR as it is now since completing video 24(mirroring)

I'd agree with Gerald on this. My PC is only a XP1800+ and to get some nice speed, I either cut panelsinto a different layer, or alternatively, hide all but what I want to work on. Also, if you switch to wireframe mode to rotate the object, it does tend to run faster, then I just switched back to textured mode once I'd isolated the section I was working on.

Thanks colkai. It's good to hear that I don't have a problem, and that dealing with sooooooooooooo much geometry is just a fact of computer life. Anyway, breaking up the pieces as you and Gerald have suggested seems like the resolution.
Thanks again to Wes, Gerald and to you, colkai.
