I am very new to lightwave. I recently purchased "lightwave 3d 8 from the beginning"
I've read a couple of books written on lightwave and by watching this dvd it has put a lot of the reading into perspective.

One problems that I am having is:
1. Saving my project as we move along in the tutorial. I am referring to building the TV in the dvd. I have followed the instructions for content files and setup my files accordingly, but when I hit the save button, nothing seems to get saved so I have to start the whole TV building process all over again when i exit the program. It's a bummer when you get so far and you have to start all over again.

Can anynone help?

did you do a search in your hard drive for the file ie search your hard drive for *.obj for the date u worked on it. it might be sitting in an unsuspecting directory. Also when you go to import a file or open a file where does lightwave take you?

Actually, since it's Lightwave, shouldn't you search for .lwo instead of .obj?

Open up your preferences settings and see where the directory is you're using. It should be in the object's folder there. You could also do a "Save As" and see where it's being stored and whether it's actually being stored as well.

You're not working in "discovery" mode are you? I don't think that will allow you save models unless they're very small poly counts either.

Hope this helps.

Look at the top of the screen, it will say Discovery Mode.
