I have decided to Model the SSR. This is what I have done so far.
My computer crashed a few times, It got to hot. It has been pretty warm here in little Oamaru New Zealand. The room I am working got to hot, coursing my computer to overheat and crash. Have to get a fan.

Don't worry about mistakes too much. We all make them. :)

Wires look good enough to begin patching but if you run into any problems, we'll be here to help. :)

This is looking spot on.. Glad to have another SSRer... So much is given in the tutes, and you should get to a point where you start to second guess whats coming...

Hi Dave
Hopefully I will do some patching today.
Maybe I won't be patching today. Useless Lightwave. Took me all morning to fine the Spline Patch tool. when I did fined it, everytime I used it, Lightwave froze on me, it's not the only tool that does it either:banghead:.
Any Ideas?:ranting:

Edit: Wish I could Spell:biggrin:

What are you disappointed with? Looks spot on so far. Remember your in the initial phase of building the SSR, laying out a good canvas and flow, before you start adding details..

Any one no way my Bandsaw works on opposite sides. Must be a setting somewhere. Any help would be appreciated:help:

richdj

Bandsaw works based on which way you select the polys, i.e: left to right or up to down or reverse, not on how they are visible, takes a little getting used to..

Hey Jason hope things work out well for you with your job.I'm not to fussed about selecting the right polys to get bandsaw to work on the face you want it to ,if you happen to bandsaw the wrong face just hit the reverse selection and all will be fine.

Thanks Dave. Yea I used Bansaw reversed before, But I was just wondering why it was doing that.
Thanks Again:)

i am trying srr car modeling ,how do you get the training vidio to run with out coming on line?i have quicktime pro.on my pc.or is this why i bought the cds,to go back online so i could get the training?i am new to kurvs,i may not be set up right,or something?but to buy cds, then have to go back online so ican see the movies?why not just go online to do the training. thats why i bought the cds ,so not to go back online.some people have poor internet access?

If you have the CD's or DL'd the tutes. Then you don't need to go online. You simply play it from the CD or wherever you have saved the tute to. If it's making you go-online to watch, then you have a problem, and it's not the tutorials causing it.

Well the menu system may be looking online for verification but thats not necessary at all. Simply click on the links in the TOC for the videos... if your on a Mac, you can also open the 'video_final' folder directly and run videos from the folder.

Thanks Rich!!

i am modaling ssr .problem? when i use spline patch,i get 4 point polys.but the poly has a line running from corner to corner ,which make it a triangle.i use the edge tool to remove them, but thereis alot of them.is there a way to set modler or thats the way lightwave runs?

richdj

It's not a problem having 3 or 4 point polys, tri's or quads. If you have LWcad 3.5 it has a quad tool, simply merge all the tri's and then use the quad tool. Failing that, you can merge them in pairs, (shift + z) to make quads. With this you can do more than one pair at a time.
