Timothy Albee is a veteran of Walt Disney Feature Animation, broadcast television, syndicated television, commercials, and video games. He co-founded two animation studios in the Los Angeles area before moving to Fairbanks, Alaska, to focus on his vision of “micro-team” filmmaking. His goal of “no secrets” is embodied in his best selling books Essential LightWave 3D, LightWave 3D Character Animation, NewTek’s Getting Started Guide (included in the LightWave 3D 8 box), and CGI Filmmaking the Creation of Ghost Warrior. In 2004 Timothy Albee focused all of his artistic passion on a short ‘proof of concept’ film called Kaze Ghost Warrior. Kaze was hailed by the industry and gained popularity as article after article was written about the 23 minute animated short film made in 6 months by Tim alone. NewTek featured this film at Siggraph 2004 while magazines and news sites like 3D World, Computer Graphics World, AnimWatch, VFX World, 3D|VFX, KeyFrame (now HDRI3D), Animation Magazine, Variety’s DVD Exclusive, RenderNode and more all featured articles about Timothy Albee’s achievement with Kaze.
Today, Timothy Albee is in the process of moving to Toronto Canada, and is working with 4 VFX professionals to create a featured film in the Kaze series. Timothy is currently writing updates to all of his books for Wordware Publishing as well as being contracted to produce video training for KURV studios. |
