Layne Smith is the Graphics and Multimedia Director at Dallas Morning News. His team of artists has been using LightWave 3D to produce graphics for daily publication, some of which have been picked up and used by web and television outlets, including CNN and Oprah. Their work has earned them multiple Texas Associated Press Managing Editors’ Awards for infographics (TexasAPME), multiple Katie Awards for infographics (regional media awards), and a Society of News Design award for infographics (world-wide).

Layne and the Dallas Morning News hold an annual training session for print artists looking to get into LightWave 3D.
