Nicholas was one of the lead artist on Good Boy! and Garfield at RainMaker in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada which used Sasquatch extensively on these films. Nicholas shows you the basics of Sasquatch and how to apply Sasquatch to hair guides and making grass. Then Nicholas shows you how to use Sasquatch on more advanced projects like characters.

Artist Profile

Nicholas Boughen - is an Emmy and Gemini Nominated CG Supervisor at Rainmaker Animation and Visual Effects in Vancouver, BC, Canada. For the MGM feature film Good Boy!, Nicholas was instrumental in creating a new technology to matchmove the 500+ talking-dog head shots in the movie. After training a team of eight artists on his ground-breaking technology, the team was able to produce a minimum of 20 shots per week. Nicholas has worked on countless television commercials, pilots, and miniseries including Dead Like Me, Aftershock: Earthquake in New York, Voyage of the Unicorn, Snow White, Time Tunnel, Stargate SG-1, and others, providing modeling, texturing, lighting, and animation. Nicholas' feature film work includes The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Good Boy!, Garfield, and I-Robot. Nicholas is the best-selling author of LightWave 3D 8 Lighting, which has changed how artists look at all aspects of lighting and is a must-have for every serious LightWave artist and he also co-authored LightWave 3D: 1001 Tips and Tricks.

Nicholas received his Emmy nomination for his Visual Effects work on the pilot of Dead Like Me. He received his Gemini nomination for his Visual Effects work on season 6 of Stargate SG1. Nicholas was also lead lighting artist on Rainmaker's contribution to I, Robot, which has been Oscar nominated for outstanding Visual Effects.
